The Mysterious Council

  • President: Louis Garcia

Our President and Founder Louis Garcia is a carpenter, boy scout leader, and father. He founded the DGS to build an inclusive space for spooky people of all types.

He also wore a Tremere lapel pin to his wedding. Don’t be fooled by the kindly demeanor.

  • Vice-President: Patrick Regan (he/him)

When not running games (or the club), Patrick is a screenwriter. Among other things. Gaming has always served as a creative outlet he doesn’t have to worry about turning into a career.

He grew up in New Orleans, and it’s impossible to leave that city without a few ghosts in your head.

  • Treasurer: Andrew Henkes (he/him)

Andrew’s career in academic administration prepared him to handle the often arcane finances of the Dead Gamers Society. It doesn’t help that our Mysterious Ledger whispers secrets at night.

When not managing our Mysterious Finances, Andrew is also one of the finest Changeling GMs in the club. So maybe don’t follow him into the woods.

  • Player Liason: Sarah Dompkowski (she/they)

Sarah joined DGS in 2019, and the board in 2020. Originally from Maine, their degree from Emerson College brought them to Los Angeles. When not gaming, Sarah enjoys writing, movie marathons, fantasy books, painting miniatures, and road trips.

Some of Sarah’s favorite horror movies include: Ravenous, The Guest, The Witch, and Hush.

  • Communications Officer: Patrick Hume (he/him)

Pat Hume keeps our members well-informed of all club activities. He also loves a little mad science in his horror, so try to avoid ending up on his slab.

When not gaming, Pat reigns as the club’s trivia champion, having won three episodes of Jeopardy! in April 2021. That fiendish attention to detail serves him well at the table, though his players might disagree.

  • Master of Ceremonies: Alden Knowles

Alden Knowles is that rarest of things: an actual native Angeleno. He’s been helping to run DGS events ever since he hosted our Halloween Murder Mystery all those years ago

When not gaming, Alden practices kung-fu and brews beer and mead. Don’t ask too many questions about what goes in either.

  • Administrative Manager: Nico Paoli (they/them)

Nico Paoli has been with the DGS since they were a teenager. It’s unclear whether this was a good or a bad thing for their development. It has made them incredibly enthusiastic about the health of the club and its mission of inclusivity.

So maybe it all worked out in the end. They did design this website, after all.

  • Aliou Brown

When COVID-19 lockdowns forced the DGS away from our playtables, it was Aliou Brown who saved the club. He built our Discord server out of grit and code and kept us afloat through the quarantine.

He also enjoys strange, reality-altering cosmic nightmares in his games. We really should have that code checked for summoning rituals.

  • Kacie Shelton

Kacie Shelton is one of the original DGS members and a literal rocket scientist.

No, seriously. She worked for the JPL and is by far the most accomplished member of the Mysterious Council.

When not working on things that go into literal space, Kacie enjoys exploring Astral Space in Mage the Ascension.

  • Phil McCrumb

Phil has been with the club since its earliest days in Orange County and is current responsible for two of our longest running campaigns.

Council Emeritus

  • Torpid Primogen - Mike Cantin

While he has stepped back from day-to-day operations, the club would not exist without the tireless early work of Mike Cantin.
